It makes me even happier when my goals are worth three points. We had a great relationship with Gasperini, and we were all sorry that he got sacked; lots of things have been said and written that just aren't true. The competition between Pazzini and myself? I think we can play together but that's a question you should ask the coach. I didn't have much luck last year and at this level when you're not in good physical shape it always tells. Inter 0-3 Napoli: dubious decisions prove costly

MILAN - The final outcome was three goals to Napoli and two sendings off for Inter. The 2011/12 Serie A Week 6 match played at the Stadio Meazza was determined in the first half, as Rocchi's decisions weighed heavily on the result: two dubious bookings for Obi (on 10 and 40 minutes) - the second for a foul that took place outside the box - altered the course of the game, leaving Inter with 10 men and a penalty to defend. Julio Cesar saved Hamsik's spot kick but Campagnaro turned in the rebound (43), though it should have been retaken because the Argentine had already entered the area when Hamsik struck the ball. In the second half, Maggio looped a through ball over Julio Cesar to make it two, before Hamsik wrapped up the scoring in the 75th minute.

FIRST HALF - With Ranocchia suspended, Ranieri went with Lucio and Samuel at the heart of defence while Maicon was handed his first appearance of the season at right-back after recovering from injury, with Chivu on the left. Pazzini shook off his foot injury to start in attack alongside Forlan, with Alvarez just behind the front two. Milito missed the match with a thigh problem. Napoli had to make do without Cavani so Pandev lined up alongside Lavezzi and Hamsik, while Zuniga was preferred to Dossena on the left.
The Nerazzurri started strongly as Maicon immediately began to reproduce his barnstorming runs of old down the right flank: his low cross in the 2nd minute was back-heeled by Pazzini but there was no one to latch onto it. Just a minute passed and the Brazilian had worked his way into the box on the right where he clashed with Gargano (3), the ref deeming the contact above board. Another minute passed and another opening came for the Nerazzurri as Alvarez went for goal from distance, his left-footed drive ending wide. Inter were keeping Napoli pegged in their own half with some neat exchanges and early balls.
In the 10th minute Obi stopped Lavezzi on the counter-attack with a clean challenge and was shown a yellow, much to the Nerazzurri's disbelief – there wasn't even a hint of a foul.
Forlan then showed his class as he cut inside and made space before curling a right-footed shot just wide of the post (13). Pazzini also went close, latching onto Maicon's ball only to be denied by Campagnaro (16).
Down the other end, Zuniga had Napoli's first chance of note as he rose at the far post to head wide. Napoli slowly came into the game and Alvarez's 21st minute foul on Zuniga gave Napoli a free kick, which Inler blasted over.
The ball was in the net after 24 minutes when Pazzini poked home the rebound following Zanetti's shot, but the striker's head and chest were beyond the last defender as the ball was released: offside.
The captain then seemed to clip Lavezzi on 34 minutes as El Pocho burst down the left flank, with the referee waving play on.
Picked out by Lavezzi in the 38th minute, Pandev failed to make the most of a chance as he stumbled and lost the ball.
Two minutes later came the foul by Obi – at least according to Rocchi – that led to the Nigerian's second booking and a penalty, even though the contact took place outside the area. Hamsik's spot kick was saved by Julio Cesar, Campagnaro pounced, and the ball was in the net. So 0-1 to Napoli and Inter down to 10 men, despite Obi's first booking not even being plausible and Campagnaro entering the area before Hamsik's shot.
The teams went into the dressing rooms after a minute's stoppage time, but on his way in Ranieri asked Rocchi to explain the decisions. No explanation was offered, just a red card for the Inter coach.

SECOND HALF – The second half began with no changes on the pitch but Ranieri had moved up to the stands to watch the rest of the match. From there he saw Napoli double their lead: Mascara played a ball over the top for Maggio, who beat Nagatomo to the bounce and lobbed over the onrushing Julio Cesar, making it 0-2.
Lucio saved for Inter in the 58th minute with a sliding tackle to prevent Zuniga from breaking into the box and then, as the match became increasingly tense, Napoli almost made it three: Hamsik's low ball picked out Zuniga with the goal at his mercy, yet the Colombian somehow lifted his effort over the bar (65).
Down the other end, Nagatomo found Pazzini in the box but De Sanctis stole the ball from his feet (66).
Inter were the only big team that Hamsik had never scored against and the Slovak set the record straight tonight: kept onside by Cambiasso, he burst though the Nerazzurri rear guard to collect Lavezzi's through ball before slotting home.
The match naturally began to peter out after that but in the two minutes of stoppage time Pazzini went close with a header from Maicon's cross.
The game ended 0-3 to Napoli. The Nerazzurri remain on 4 points and have Rocchi to thank.

MILAN - "An excellent first half against a great team, but there's regret because if there was one team that deserved it it was Inter." A bitter comment from Javier Zanetti regarding the match at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, but despite all the doubts, the captain continues to look forward. "We need to move forward. Unfortunately that's football. There were many dubious incidents that seemed to go against us. We tried to ask for some explanations, but not too much because that can get you sent off."
Zanetti then turned his attention to the Nerazzurri fans: "I have to say thanks to them. At the end of the match in the dressing room we said that we would go far because we had a great first half."

JULIO CESAR  5+ – Sbaglia il tempo nell’uscita non capendosi con Maicon: buon per lui che Zuniga sbaglia il colpo di testa.  Compie il capolavoro sul rigore parato ad Hamsik, ma Campagnaro lo trafigge poco dopo (partendo da posizione dubbia). Perde la pazienza con l’arbitro rischiando anche lui il rosso. Grave l’incomprensione con Nagatomo dalla quale nasce la rete di Maggio, su Hamsik si tuffa quasi alla disperata, come a dire “Che devo farci?”.

MAICON 6 – Giusto per fugare tutti i dubbi, si regala un inizio da Frecciarossa con tre progressioni devastanti poco dopo il fischio d’inizio e spingendosi addirittura fino alla trequarti. E’ lui a dare il la (con un po’ di fortuna) all’azione non conclusa da Lucio. Poi il Napoli riesce a limitarne, sebbene a fatica, le incursioni. Nella ripresa perde di lucidità come del resto tutta la squadra. E’ lui purtroppo a lasciare Hamsik libero di infilzare Julio Cesar per la terza volta, ma la frittata appariva ormai fatta da un pezzo... Tenta l'assist per Pazzini nel finale.

LUCIO 5,5 – Va a marcare addirittura sulla linea dei centrocampisti, libera l’area da alcuni pericoli, per poco non fa male al Napoli mancando l’impatto col pallone.  Anche se un suo giochetto gli costa una palla persa e una ripartenza potenzialmente pericolosa di Lavezzi. Lavezzi col quale ingaggia un duello senza esclusione di colpi. Nell'azione del terzo gol, Hamsik gli sbuca alle spalle.

SAMUEL 6- – Primo intervento di testa  dopo 18 minuti che gli causa anche una piccola emicrania. Non proprio ortodosso nemmeno l’intervento su Lavezzi, che però poco dopo  controlla bene evitandogli un intervento di testa. Nel perdersi in proteste si perde Pandev che però si incarta in maniera incredibile. Ad inizio ripresa combina un pasticcio che per poco non favorisce ancora il macedone. Dopo lo 0-2, tenta generosamente di buttarsi in avanti.

CHIVU 6 – Aiutato dai rientri di Obi può anche andare a fare il difensore centrale. Lui e Lucio mancano l’appuntamento col gol sul cross del nigeriano. In difesa fa il suo senza badare troppo per il sottile, anche se a volte concede qualche spazio di troppo. Giallo per un fallo ai danni di Lavezzi. Anche per lui, dopo un po’, si fanno sentire i postumi dei problemi alla caviglia. Esce dopo il rosso a Obi.
DAL 43’ NAGATOMO  4,5 – Entra prima del rigore e a freddo si perde Campagnaro , che però entra in area abbondantemente prima della battuta di Hamsik. Poi ingaggia bei duelli con Maggio, che però lo brucia clamorosamente allungando la gamba per il gol del raddoppio. Cerca di farsi perdonare ma commette altri due errori nell’applicazione del fuorigioco.

ZANETTI 6 – Molto diligente soprattutto in fase di pressing, con il ritorno di Maicon va anche a scalare come terzino destro. Da quello spot parte con un’azione travolgente fermata alla disperata da Zuniga. Rischia parecchio su Lavezzi, ma è per un altro, ben più lieve, motivo che finisce nel gorgo delle ammonizioni random di Rocchi. Meno bene nella ripresa; sbaglia ad applicare il fuorigioco lasciando campo libero ad Hamsik che mette in mezzo per Zuniga. Ma nell'ultimo disperato tentativo di bucare De Sanctis c'è tutto il suo cuore.

CAMBIASSO 6  – Direttore d’orchestra meticoloso, ha a che fare con brutti clienti come Inler e Gargano; una sua leggerezza viene rattoppata da capitan Zanetti. In avanti però è una presenza tangibile. Sul finire del primo tempo si trasforma in capopopolo incitando la folla nei fischi contro l’incredibile Rocchi. Grandissimo quando salva un cross sballato di Stankovic. Lottatore.

OBI 7 – Un eccellente recupero su Lavezzi viene trasformato in un cartellino giallo inconcepibile dall’arbitro Rocchi. Innesca alcune ripartenze, si reinventa anche quinto difensore in fase di copertura. Ma Rocchi su di lui compie il capolavoro all’incontrario convertendo un fallo iniziato fuori area con rigore ed espulsione. E’ la prima vittima dell’atteggiamento scellerato del fischietto fiorentino, la sua rimane comunque un’ottima partita.

ALVAREZ 5,5 – Ranieri ci riprova, dandogli nuovamente fiducia nel ruolo di trequartista, ma con licenza di dare una mano a Maicon sulla destra. Dopo 4 minuti tenta una conclusione anche insidiosa da lontano. Non sempre preciso, specie quando usa il piede sbagliato, si concede però due bei interventi in chiusura a metà campo. L’impressione è che sia un po’ attanagliato dal miedo escenico del Meazza. Avrebbe due buone chances ad inizio secondo tempo, ma latita in tempismo.  
DAL 61’ STANKOVIC 5 – Un intervento su Maggio che potrebbe valere un giallo più legittimo di quelli di Obi; due passaggi fuori misura, un battibecco con l’autore dello 0-2. Entra in campo con più rabbia in corpo degli altri.

FORLAN 4,5 – Si coordina male sciupando una bella azione orchestrata dall’incontenibile Maicon. Ci va molto più vicino poco dopo con un bel tiro da fuori che sibila di poco vicino al palo. Poi cerca di farsi vedere ma senza risultati apprezzabili.
DAL 68’ ZARATE 6 – Baresi si affida a lui nel tentativo che dia la scossa come avvenuto già con la Roma. Lui ci prova, ma purtroppo, il contesto non lo aiuta.

PAZZINI 6 – Stringe i denti, soffre, fa in tempo anche a creare un pericolo, forse con un tocco di Campagnaro non rilevato a sporcargli il tiro. Trova anche la via del gol punendo l’incertezza di De Sanctis, ma il guardalinee lo pizzica (giustamente) in off-side; ci mette una grinta incredibile, anche quando la squadra resta in dieci. Anche lui ha parecchio da ridire verso l’arbitro.

ALLENATORE: RANIERI 6 – Non può fare a meno di far sentire il proprio dissenso per quanto capitato nel primo tempo, costringendo Rocchi ad allontanare dal campo anche lui insieme all’assistente Damiano. La sua Inter, che aveva iniziato bene, finisce travolta dalle scelte sconsiderate di Rocchi e nel secondo tempo viene imbrigliata dal tiki-taka della formazione di Mazzarri che colpisce beffarda punendo due leggerezze difensive.

MILAN - Esteban Cambiasso also gave his comments to the microphones of Inter Channel. Like his team-mates, he thought of what could have been and what wasn't, a lovely spectacle of football sent up in smoke by refereeing decisions: "I'm very sorry. All the conditions were there for a lovely match, very combative. Even the coolest heads in the world would not have been able to resist experiencing the match in a certain way. The images speak more than words. It's difficult to make an analysis, but I don't remember any spectacular saves from us before the penalty. We were penalised, but Napoli have nothing to do with it. It would have been a match open to any kind of result. Lovely."
