A huge step for Nemanja Matic - 10 March 2011

Serbian International player Nemanja Matic was in Lisbon this Wednesday for medical tests after his move from Chelsea.

The midfielder was part of David Luiz's deal to the English side and the 22 year-old took the opportunity to answer some questions while at the Estádio da Luz, in declarations made exclusive to Benfica TV.

Below are extracts from the full interview, which is available in this week's club newspaper 'O Benfica'.

What do you know about Benfica?
Benfica is a big club and it's a huge step for me. I know the club has many supporters and has won the European Cup twice, and that speaks for itself.

About Benfica's current team, and especially those who play in your position, what do you know about them?
I have heard of all the Benfica players, in my case it's Javi García, but Aimar very well known in my country. When I was younger I used to watch the Spanish league when Aimar was in Valencia, he was one of the best players in Spanish football. I am very happy to have the opportunity to grow alongside him.

Benfica participate in European competitions regularly, how important is that for you?
It's one of the reasons I came to Benfica. I have never played in the Championes League or the Europa League, and the experience is great for any football playing in a European competition.

Estádio da Luz is the biggest stadium in Portugal and one of the biggest in the world. Do you think it will be special playing in a venue such as this?
I saw the stadium on the internet, by visiting the official Benfica website, and it looks incredible. I am very happy that I will be playing in one of the biggest venues in Europe and we shall see what I can give at the Estádio da Luz.

Nemanja Matic is currently playing for Vitesse in the Ducth top league Eredivisie. The Serbian is on loan from Chelsea and will officially join Benfica at the end of the season.

Matic很有名嗎，打啥位置的？之前一直有消息，但俺對這個名字不敏感，就一直忽略了……不過現在新來的都要先拍下艾馬馬屁呀^_^

其實上半場機會很多，下半場總體而言踢的沒有上半場好。
但換人都有奏效，一個Jara一個aimar
倒是先發的Gaitan整場隱形，囧
toto很不錯，再次呼籲魯伊哥哥搶人～

我記得我明明上了鬧鐘的，結果沒起來……現在還在想到底鬧鐘響了沒……

跟上一輪同樣的比分啊……蓋坦童鞋這幾天一直治傷沒正常訓練，之前媒體的消息感覺是比艾馬上場的可能性更小的，耶穌居然讓他首發……

據說主席親自出馬去搶人的，就是不知道能不能搶得過來……

球報上有條消息，說雷耶斯被Inter和貝西克塔斯看上了……如果他最終轉會的話，一方面本菲卡擁有他25%的所有權，可以分得轉會費，但另一方面馬競把他放走了，還會把toto留給我們嗎……

不错，还捞了一个助攻，哈拉越来越自信了，难怪本菲卡对小莫里失去兴趣了~~

Toto估计是很难留住了，还好下赛季阿毛林应该就伤愈了，小费尔南德斯也可以有些机会~
