Claudio Lopez To Announce Retirement?
According to reports from the Argentine press Racing Club striker Claudio Lopez could announce his retirement at the end of the year.
zoom - galleria The former Argentine international, who returned to his native Argentina to play for Racing Club this year, told the press that he will decide whether he will hang up his boots or not at the end of the season.
"To tell you the truth, I'm not sure whether I will continue playing," the 33 year old declared to Buenos Aires newspaper Ole.
Lopez, who's 15 year career has seen him play for the likes of Valencia, Lazio, and Club America, has been in good form for Racing this season, despite the club's disappointing campaign.
On Saturday Lopez will have the opportunity to turn out for Racing in the derby of Avellaneda against Independiente.
"At the moment, the only thing that interests me is the derby against Independiente. I've played lots of derbies around the world, but the one from Avellaneda is particularly important," he concluded.
