El goleador de River se va finalmente a jugar a Rusia.

Se van los goles, las definiciones sutiles, el toque de calidad para terminar cada jugada. Se va otra joyita del club, otro
fruto de la exquisita cantera. Se va un mimado de los hinchas, una debilidad de las fanas adolescentes, la cara más
publicitaria del plantel. Se va Fernando Cavenaghi, el Torito para el ambiente futbolero, el Gordo para sus amigos de
River, el Kity para sus íntimos de O''Brien.

Esta vez no hay vuelta atrás. La transferencia del goleador al Spartak de Moscú se cerró ayer a la tardecita en las oficinas
del primer piso del Monumental, mientras Cavenaghi se entrenaba por última vez con el plantel en el Hindú Club ya que
hoy o manana viajará a Rusia para hacerse la revisión médica y sumarse al equipo que pelea por la Intertoto (debe jugar
contra el Villarreal de Pellegrini) y así conseguir una lugar en la Copa UEFA.

La negociación entre River y el Spartak se encaminó desde el instante en que el CSKA retiró formalmente su interés. El
sábado a la noche, José María Aguilar se reunió con el manager del club ruso (Yevgeny Smolenstsev) y con Marcelo
Simonian, el empresario que acercó la oferta. Enseguida se pusieron de acuerdo en el monto total (11.500.000 dólares).
La duda surgía por cómo iba a cobrar River los 9.000.000 que le correspondían. Los rusos ofrecían la mitad en efectivo y
el resto en cuotas. River no bajaba el martillo porque quería asegurarse el cobro de la parte documentada ante la crisis de
los bancos rusos.

Al final, cerraron los números bajando el precio, pero cobrando más efectivo.

?Por qué? Porque esos documentos (cuotas) y sus avales correspondientes, River debía cobrarlos en su momento a
través de un banco, que se quedaría con una comisión. Así fue que para destrabar el tema, la contrapropuesta a los rusos
fue la siguiente: dame menos todo junto (cerca de 8.700.000 dólares) y ganamos los dos. Entonces sí, Aguilar y Mario
Israel (presidente del Consejo de Fútbol) cerraron el trato.

Por otro lado, Néstor Sívori, representante del Torito, si bien todavía quiere charlar algunas cuestiones, ya llegó a un
preacuerdo por el contrato (firmaría por tres o cuatro anos). Tanto arregló que el delantero dejó la concentración del
Hindú tras cenar con el plantel.

La venta de Cavenaghi es un buen negocio para River, ya que sacar 9.000.000 de dólares limpios por un jugador no es
fácil como está planteado el mercado. Además, el pibe necesitaba un crecimiento en su carrera y el club, los verdes para
reinvertir en el equipo.

Cavenaghi no sólo deja River. Deja su segunda casa, en la que pasó ocho anos de su vida (se instaló en la pensión a los
13), en la que conoció a sus grandes amigos (Sebastián Rivera, la Gata Fernández, el Flaco Saccone). Deja la camiseta
que ama. Deja un hueco difícil de llenar en el equipo y una grieta en el corazón de los hinchas. Deja recuerdos
imborrables y goles. Muchos goles.
