Argentina international Ariel Ortega could be set for a move to Brazilian side Cruzerio as he looks to get his career back on track.
The gifted playmaker has been out of football for over a year after a problem with former club Fenerbahce.
The former River Plate man retired after he failed to resolve his row with Fenerbahce when he was ordered by Fifa to pay the Istanbul outfit $11 million (£6.6 million) in compensation for walking out on his contract with them.
Cruzeiro are keen to offer Ortega a route back into football and the player's agent Alejandro Mancuso admitted talks are under way to resolve the row with Fenerbahce.
"Cruzeiro wants Ortega at once", said Mancuso
"We know that there is a legal problem with Fenebahce and that Fifa has suspended Ortega but there are very intense and important negotiations for making him play again."
"Rivaldo couldn't be transferred to Argentina but Ortega could maybe have a chance to be transferred to Brazil.
"I can`t say much more because it's a very difficult negotiation".
