Palestine are looking into the possibility of persuading Fulham striker Facundo Sava to represent them in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers.
The Argentinian forward has emerged as a shock target ahead of the Asian section of the tournament due to his family background.
Local newspaper Al-Quds claims contact has been made between the Palestinian football authorities and Fulham with a view to bidding to tempt Sava to change his nationality.
Palestine have a qualifying game against Chinese Tapei on February 18, but it seems unlikely anything could be set up in time for the former Gimnasia goal-getter to link up with the squad.
Indeed, South American sources suggest the 29-year-old is likely to rebuff any advances from Palestine.
Tottenham saw striker Fredi Kanoute whisked away to Tunisia to represent Mali in the African Cup of Nations, even though they understood him to be a French citizen when they brought the West Ham hit-man to White Hart Lane.
