MILAN - Javier Zanetti's wife Paula has given birth to a baby girl. Both Sol Zanetti and her mother are well. After this morning's training session the Inter captain left Angelo Moratti Sports Centre to be with his wife for the birth of their first child. Th The player will join the squad in Rome this evening.

Massimo Moratti, Giacinto Facchetti and the club, Roberto Mancini and the coaching staff, the players and all Inter fans wish Paula, Javier and newly born Sol all the best.

DONETSK - Nerazzurri captain Javier Zanetti answered questions at Tuesday's UEFA news conference before the final training session ahead of Wednesday's Champions League qualifier against Shakhtar Donetsk:

Adriano said there's a different team spirit this year. What do you think?
"Let's hope it's like this. Us, the club and the fans have never lacked enthusiasm. Unfortunately we have never managed to reach important goals, but I think the Coppa Italia we won last year was a fundamental moment."

How much will the five league matches Shakhtar have played influence this tie?
"They are certainly further ahead than us in terms of athletic condition, but we're not making any excuses. We will do everything to win."

What do you think about the draw result?
"We respect Shakhtar, but we are here to play our game and get through the round."

Does the fact that there are many Argentines in the squad change anything?
"I certainly like this aspect, but the most important thing is that we all have the same objective, which is to write an important page in Inter's history."
