José Reina Paez - 8.0
On the receiving end of plenty of abuse from Wolves fans - who blame him for a sending-off in this fixture last season - and his shockingly wayward early kicking provided further grist to the mill. But he was a comforting presence to the back four with some fine handling and made a brilliant block to deny Milijas on the cusp of half-time.
Martin Kelly - 6.5
Made some fine forward bursts and stuck to his task well against the dangerous Jarvis. Developing into a fine full-back.
Martin Skrtel - 7.0
His confidence and reputation have taken a battering this season but the centre-back produced a combative, solid display.
Daniel Agger - 7.0
Did not win as many headers as a blue-chip centre-back should but handled the physical battle against Fletcher and Doyle very well.
Glen Johnson - 6.0
Cut his hair, binned the Predator look and had a decent game in the emergency left-back position. Did not venture forward too often but solid enough.
Dirk Kuyt - 5.5
More influential harrying, chasing and clearing than in the final third. Tactically important when Liverpool are on the road but must produce more quality on the ball.
Christian Poulsen - 7.0
Put an early booking behind him to produce one of his best displays in a Liverpool shirt alongside Lucas. Excellent pass to put Meireles clear for Liverpool's opener. Subbed with 18 minutes left.
Raúl Meireles - 8.0
Intelligent and selfless square ball to set up Torres for the opener and then conjured one of the goals of the season with his sensational volley for the second that was straight out of the Souness/McDermott/Gerrard school of long-range brilliance. Some inspired attacking after the break when he frequently found himself in acres of space.
Lucas - Top of the Match - 8.5
The best player on the pitch. Ran the midfield with his combination of energy, commitment and intelligent use of the ball.
Maxi Rodríguez - 5.0
The weakest link in the Liverpool attack. Provided the odd decent pass - and even one excellent clearance - but was hardly convincing. After making yet another half-hearted challenge, he was called a "chicken" by pundit Danny Mills on Radio Five. Subbed with 10 minutes to go.
Fernando Torres - 7.5
The revival continues. Lively, feisty and up for the battle. The old Torres is on the way back. Brought a fine save from Hennessey early on before tapping in for his eighth Premier League goal of the season. Did not quite make the most of the space he found in the second half but confidently slammed in his third goal in four games under Dalglish.

Tottenham left it late to steal a point at St James Park, as Aaron Lennon was once again the scourge of Alan Pardew’s Newcastle United, as his stoppage time equaliser move Spurs level with Chelsea, and within touching distance of the top four.

The host had take a deserved second half lead through the unlikeliest of sources, as Argentine defender Fabricio Coloccini marked his birthday, and 100th appearance for the club with a scorching drive on the hour mark.

Harry Redknapp was forced to tinker with his line-up, with Benoit Assou-Ekotto ruled out of the match with a knee injury, allowing new signing Steven Pienaar to make his debut, with Gareth Bale dropped back into the full-back role. And it was the Welshman who would make the first notable impact on the game.

Sadly for the visitors however, it was the untimely substitution of the Welshman on 13 minutes with a muscle injury, with the Spurs man being replaced by former Newcastle defender Sebastien Bassong.

Despite the Cameroonian inexperience in the position, it was right back Alan Hutton who was on the receiving end of a barrage of attacking bursts from a spirited Newcastle side, with Jonas Gutierrez leading the attack. And the majority of their chances would blossom from the Argentine.
Working in tandem with full back Jose Enique, the winger fizzed ball after ball into the spurs box, but

it was the defender who supplied the first real chance of the match, as his whipped delivery left Cudicini stranded, and the Leon Best, who volleyed on the slide, was only denied by the cross bar.
Spurs meanwhile struggled to impact the left-hand side, and Pienaar looked lost at times without the energy of a comfortable full-back to work in front of, as Bassong remained reluctant to advance much beyond the halfway line.

Lennon was the visitors main threat, and switched between flanks in search of an opening, which almost arrived for Spurs, against the run of play, just before half time.

Jermaine Jenas, featuring against his former side, nipped in bravely to win back possession with a neat header, before unleashing Luka Modric. The Croatian meandered his way past the attentions of Joey Barton and Kevin Nolan, before slipping a ball to the Rafael Van der Vaart, whose deft backheel put Jermain Defoe through, but Steve Harper was on hand to make the block.

Made a good save from Defoe early on, but didnt really have much to do in the first half as Spurs players didnt test the stopper frequently enough. Made a good save from Lennon in the second half and was unlucky not to keep a clean sheet, but he could do nothing about Lennon’s stoppage time leveller.
Danny Simpson - 6.0
Was well protected by Barton and stuck to his task well, didnt venture forward as often as he would have liked, but with Pienaar looking lively manager Alan Pardew would have been happy with the full-backs contribution. Could have coped with Lennon better for the wingers goal, but it’s harsh to blame him for the strike.
Fabricio Coloccini - Top of the Match - 8.0
Defensively he struggled to cope with the pace of Defoe in the first half, but showed his true class in the second period. Made a goal saving tackle on Defoe early in the second period and then scored a wonderful goal good enough for any centre forward, chesting the ball down and smashing it past Cudicini. Newcastle’s stand out player.
Mike Williamson - 7.0
Really compliments Coloccini by being the tougher of the two defenders. Never backs out of any tackle and is really good in the air, while being good on the deck too. With Van Der Vaart dropping very deep and Coloccini handling Defoe, he swept up the scraps very well.
José Enrique - 7.0
The Spaniard has been a revelation this season, attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Handled the pacey Aaron Lenon extremely well throughout, and got forward when he could linking up well with Gutierrez. Newcastle will have some trouble holding on to this guy for much longer.
Joey Barton - 7.0
Struggled to get into the game early on and was forced into a more defensive role with Pienaar staying forward down the left-hand side. Grew into the game in the second period with some trademark tough tackling which summed up the spirit of the Newcastle fans. Will rue losing possession when Newcastle had a 4 on 2 situation in stoppage time, and from the resulting Spurs attack, Lennon equalised.
Danny Guthrie - 6.5
Always looked to keep the ball on the deck, getting hold of the ball and spreading the play to Gutierrez whenever possible. Was a calming influence in the middle of the park. Replaced by Perch.
Kevin Nolan - 5.5
Newcastle’s goalscoring midfielder had a quiet afternoon by his standards. He only seems to score goals, and without getting on the scoresheet didnt really offer much to his side as Modric and Jenas often outpaced him going forward.
Jonás Gutiérrez - 6.5
Made positive runs down the left hand side and got past Hutton on a few occassions but his final ball waspoor. A very frustrating player for the Newcastle fans.
Leon Best - 6.5
Ran his socks off and gave Dawson a tough time by holding the ball up really well. Hit the bar midway through the first half with a great sliding effort from Jose Enrique’s cross. Was replaced by Lovenkrands midway through the second half.
Shola Ameobi - 7.0
Wasted two big chances in the first half after blazing over twice when well placed inside the area. Like most of the players on the pitch he came into the game more in the second half, and brought the best out of Cudicini with a great left-footed effort. Tired late on though and was replaced by Ranger.

James Perch - 5.0
Replaced Guthrie and didnt have much impact on the game, looks very tentative and hasn’t built up a great rapor with the Newcastle fans. You could tell that effected him today.

Nile Ranger - 6.0
The youngster almost scored with his first touch after coming on, just like Lovenkrands. Some superb movement created space and his shot went inches wide of Cudicini’s left hand post. Livened up a tiring attack alongside Lovenkrands.
Peter Lovenkrands - 6.0
Came on for Best with 25 minutes remaining and almost scored with his first touch, getting in behind the defence and firing a low shot that Cudicini expertly saved with his legs. Adds much needed pace to a slow Newcastle strikeforce.

Carlo Cudicini - 7.0
With the home team bombarding his goal with aerial balls the Italian had to be on his toes at all times, and considering he is a substitute goalkeeper he looked very confident and played very well. Most notably making two world class saves in the second half, from Lovenkrands and Ameobi respectively.
Alan Hutton - 6.0
Had a tough assignment as almost all of Newcastle’s play comes down the left-hand side, but the Scot did very well coping with the attacking exploits of Enrique and Gutierrez.
Michael Dawson - 6.0
Given a tough game by Best but seemed to relish the physical battle with the frontman. Got forward whenever possible and was always communicating with his players, a real defensive leader.
William Gallas - 6.0
Handled the awkard Ameobi very well throughout with most of the home side's play coming through Leon Best. A very cool defender under pressure and really showed his experience in such a tough game.
Gareth Bale - 5.0
Replaced by Bassong early on after sustaining an injury.
Aaron Lennon - 7.0
Was his usual enigmatic self showing moments of magic before frustrating his manager with some poor crossing, but saved his side with a stoppage time equaliser. Had a tough battle against the very strong Jose Enrique, but tested Harper in the second half, before snatching a point for Spurs in the dying moments, drilling a low shot into the bottom left hand corner.
Jermaine Jenas - 5.5
The former Newcastle man was booed throughout but played well nonetheless. Wasn't the easiest game for the player as Newcastle’s direct approach meant the ball often sailed over his head, but looked comfortable. Was replaced by Crouch in the second half.
Luka Modric - 6.0
The man of the match last week wasn't allowed into the game as Spurs were unable to play the flowing football that makes them so dangerous. Did hit the bar late on with a vicious drive, but that was the playmaker's only real attacking input.
Steven Pienaar - 5.0
The debutant didnt have the best of starts to his Spurs career, looking very out of sorts in the first half with some poor deliveries and a wild shot that almost sailed out of St James’ Park.
Rafael Van der Vaart - 6.5
The Dutchman didnt get any joy off Newcastle’s sturdy defence in the first half, and was forced to drop deep to get the ball. A moment of magic nearly created the opener on the stroke of half-time, but his expert flick was wasted by Defoe.
Jermain Defoe - 6.5
By far Spurs’ most dangerous player, having numerous attempts on goal in the first half alone. Tested Harper early on before wasting the best chance of the half when firing straight at Harper when played through by Van der Vaart.

Sébastien Bassong - Flop of the Match - 4.0
Another former Newcastle favourite who was booed during the game. Looked very uncomfortable in an unfamiliar left-back role. Not one of his best games for Spurs.

　　新浪体育讯　5-0！弗格森终于可以开心的笑了，在圣安德鲁斯球场终场前遭遇的争议失球引发的不快，此刻已经一扫而光。联赛战罢22轮，曼联依旧保持不败，依然是五大联赛98支球队中唯一一支迄今为止本季联赛不败的球队。现在的问题是，谁能挡得住曼联？
　　曼联不可思议的290万小成本奇迹
　　与上轮客场0-0战平热刺的首发阵容相比，爵爷此役在先发阵容中做出了三处更换，奥谢、斯马林和安德森分别替换了拉法尔、费迪南德和弗莱彻。此役，奥谢和安德森的表现堪称优秀，而斯马林也是中规中矩。
　　自从去年10月份主场2-2战平西布罗姆维奇开始，算上此役，曼联在英超联赛主场已经取得了8连胜的佳绩。超强的主场胜率也是曼联能够稳坐领头羊的本钱。与阿森纳本季在联赛主场先后输给升班马西布罗姆维奇、纽卡斯尔和热刺、战平曼城，主场已经丢掉11分不同，曼联本季已经战罢的12个英超主场取得了11胜1平的极佳，主场仅仅丢掉2分。

　　“我认为我们每场比赛都在不断的变得更强，我们踢出的足球极具观赏性，并且在前场不断的制造威胁，每每让对手疲于奔命，我希望我们能够继续保持。”赛后在接受阿森纳官网的采访时，温格教授也不忘大赞一下本队的超强进攻。并有意无意的拨弄了下竞争对手弗格森的神经：“在我看来，曼联迄今为止的不败纪录是因为太幸运了，他们后防线的表现要远远优于进攻线，所以虽然不败，但平局同样很多。”

　　新浪体育讯　客场对阿斯顿维拉，对于曼城来说，本该是一场稳拿3分的比赛。自从节礼日以来，曼城在英超联赛中取得了3胜1平的成绩，而唯一的一场平局，则来自客场对阿森纳的比赛。上月28日，曼城在主场4-0大胜维拉，为双方此次的交手积累了巨大的心理优势。而随着重头新援哲科的到来，曼奇尼的球员们渴望继续用3分向同城的曼联施压。不过，他们等来的，却是一场令人惋惜的0-1。

　　比赛的第18分钟，达伦-本特就为主队取得了领先。此后的比赛，曼城全力猛攻，但在接下来的72分钟里，维拉公园球场似乎总在重复着一样的故事：曼城的射门一次又一次的无功而返，将曼城将士们的射门拒之门外的，除了主队门将弗里德尔、主队的后卫们，还有门柱。第57分钟，主教练曼奇尼将巴里撤下，换上了亚当-约翰逊，但这并不足以让曼城进球，在多赛2场的情况下，曼城却比曼联落后了3分。

　　新浪体育讯　上场33分钟、射门1次(偏出)、29次传球25次到位、成功率86.2%，前场到位传球22次，成功率88%，威胁传球2次，这样的数据出自近12场参与、策划10球的亚当-约翰逊，如果不是最后时刻特维斯禁区内的抽射被科林斯用身体封出，哲科门前的头球差之毫厘，约翰逊的数据还会增长。

　　本场比赛曼城控球率达到70%以上，但阿斯顿维拉顽强的防守以及特维斯和哲科这两位仅第二次联袂首发的前锋在前场配合的生疏，导致曼城前场的渗透出现问题，在破密集防守的硬仗中，曼城历来不是好手，与争冠四强的5场比赛中只进过1球就是佐证。一个有创造力的大卫-席尔瓦不能解决所有问题，在中场另外三人德容、亚亚-图雷以及巴里都更擅长于中场的拦截和组织的情况下，派上一个有突破能力的边锋迫在眉睫，曼奇尼这才在下半时用亚当-约翰逊替换下了维拉旧将巴里。

United battle back for extraordinary win

Blackpool's Tangerine dream was shattered by one of those famous Manchester United comebacks as Sir Alex Ferguson's men roared back from two goals down to win 3-2 and surge five points clear at the top of the Premier League.

At half-time, on top and two goals up, it appeared Blackpool would end United's unbeaten record and achieve a result that would go down in the history books alongside the `Matthews Final' in 1953.

But those goals from Red Devils old-boy Craig Cathcart and DJ Campbell were insufficient to resist United, who were galvanised by Ryan Giggs and Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican struck the all-important equaliser but once again it was Dimitar Berbatov who did the damage for the rampant Red Devils, tapping home his side's first 19 minutes from time before driving home his 20th goal of the season - and his fifth in four days - to send Sir Alex Ferguson's men five points clear.

United were shaken out of their stride by the hosts, whose enthusiasm knows no bounds and for whom Charlie Adam, putting his transfer request and interest from Liverpool to the back of his mind, was outstanding.

It was Adam's accidental clash with Patrice Evra that forced the Frenchman off the field and meant he was out of position when he returned as the Blackpool skipper swung in his first fateful corner.

Still, there was no excuse for United's total failure to track Cathcart's run. Tipped for big things by the Old Trafford hierarchy until injury intervened, Cathcart rose unchallenged and powered a header past a motionless Edwin van der Sar.

The veteran Dutchman was also stood still when Nemanja Vidic turned a diving header straight into his chest when he had been aiming to clear.

It was an example of the confusion within the visiting ranks. Elliot Grandin scooped a 12-yard effort over the bar and David Vaughan brought an excellent save out of Van der Sar, which as it turned out, only staved off Blackpool's second by half a minute.

Again Adam took the corner. Dropping it into roughly the same place.

This time Darron Gibson got his head to it but only succeeded in turning it to Campbell, who bundled home at the far post to send the home supporters into delirium.

It was no surprise that Ferguson replaced Gibson with Giggs at half-time and Blackpool would have known the last time United faced such an unpromising scenario, they nearly defeated Aston Villa.

If Luke Varney had been granted the penalty he was convinced should have been awarded when Rafael sent him tumbling, Blackpool would almost certainly have avoided a similar fate.

As it was, United took inspiration from Hernandez's introduction for an out-of-sorts Wayne Rooney and the Seasiders started to get washed away by the tide of attacks.

The Mexican has come up with a few vital goals already in his debut season and he nearly had another when he streaked clear of the Blackpool defence.

But Kingson took the pace off his shot, allowing Cathcart's incredible evening to continue with a goal-line clearance.

United were on a roll though, and when Darren Fletcher crossed a couple of minutes later, Berbatov was on hand to tap United back into the contest.

Within two minutes, they had bagged another as Giggs' magnificent chip sent Hernandez streaking through. Having let Blackpool off the hook once, the striker was not keen on doing it again and this time finished with calm assurance.

United were not finished. Even the departure of Rafael on a stretcher that required 10 minutes injury time failed to halt their momentum.

And when Scholes sprayed a magical pass to Berbatov, the Bulgarian blasted home his fifth goal in four days to seal an unlikely win.
