Edoardo Reja has named his Lazio squad to face atletico on Thursday 23 at the Estadio Vicente Calderon. They can not count on the injured Brocchi, Biava,Stankevicius and Rocchi, while Klose will not be traveling due to back problems that will leave him in the Italian capital. The Atletico Madrid player Diego Ribas has undergone an MRI on the Clinical FREMAP Majadahonda to check the extent of the injury sustained during the La Liga match played by the rojiblancos in El Molinon against Sporting Gijon on Sunday February 19.

Regarding Arda Turan, the Atletico coach said "he is better. He has trained and we’ll see on Thursday at noon where he is."

It’s a big week for Atletico, playing at home first against Lazio and then against Barcelona, something the coach says motivates people. "I talked to the players and told them what a former player and coach feels. I’m envious that they have two games against Lazio in the Europa League and Barcelona in the league, in the space of four-days, it's exciting. I think the group is living a dream. Simeone: "The team's response has been very good"  
The Argentine coach highlights the team's humility as a key to their continued development



Diego Simeone successfully completed his first round in European competition as coach of Atletico. The 1-0 second leg final score in the Calderon was the proof that his team had completed a good job. "The good thing about us is that we do not underestimate anyone, we have a lot of respect for the opponent," he said.

The Argentine coach said that "the response has been very good" and was satisfied: "We're very happy." Simeone justified his team selction "We did think about what the team needed in the game, closing the wings. Domínguez and Perea we’re employed to help stop the four offensive players of Lazio," he said.

The Atletico coach also highlighted the work of Salvio, "He appeared on both sides, with Adrian and Koke." The squad also won the praise from the manager.. 马德里竞技主帅西蒙尼在赛后新闻发布会表示球队今天表现得像一个整体，而且自己今天的首发阵容并不是考虑到与巴塞罗那的比赛才这样安排。

西蒙尼表示：“球队表现不错，像一个整体。今天我们学会了集中精神比赛，因此每个球员表现都不错。”

西蒙尼同时表示自己不是因为要在周末对付巴塞罗那才采用轮换制。他表示：“萨尔维奥的能够提供速度和纵深，因此球队会因为他在场打法有所变化，今天我们打出了自身的最佳水平。”

对于小将阔克，西蒙尼表示他又美好的未来。而对于下一阶段的对手，阿根廷人则表示：“他们是一支很难对付的球队，他们非常强壮，而且很有侵略性，这次对碰将会很均势，因此我们需要做好万全准备来应付。”
