Boca Juniors have made Monaco defender Hugo Ibarra one of their top targets for next season.
The Argentine outfit are looking to bolster their squad and are trying to set up a deal to take Ibarra back to the club on loan.
Boca president Mauricio Macri claims that the player is keen on a move back to Argentina, but that the deal could be complicated.
"Our idea is to have Ibarra back at Boca for June but in a loan deal so he can be part of the team for the next season that will start in June," said Macri.
"We already know the player from the other times that he has played for Boca and we also know that he wants to come back for playing at Boca.
"The negotiations aren't going to be easy because Monaco has already told us that they want to do it in Euros."
Should Ibarra make the move to Boca it will be the second time he has joined the club on loan having also had a spell on loan when at Porto.
Boca are also seeking to strengthen their attack and have targeted Argentine international Martin Palermo and Banfield's Daniel Bilos.
