Galletti snubs Fulham interest
Real Zaragoza striker Luciano Galletti has turned down the chance to join Premiership high-flyers Fulham, insisting that he is happy playing in La Liga.
Fulham, who are looking to bolster their strike force following the departure of Louis Saha to Manchester United last month, watched Galletti, 24, during Zaragoza’s 2-1 home win over Real Sociedad last Sunday.
“They (Fulham) really wanted me, but it is impossible. English soccer has a great level, but, at the moment, the Spanish League is the best in the world,” said Galletti.
Fulham manager Chris Coleman, currently in contract talks with the club, is likely to renew his interest in Galletti in the summer, but will have to offer £6.7 million to meet the former Parma and Napoli hit-man’s buy-out clause.
