- Crespo: Write history from now on. Wipe the slate clean.
As in all cycles there are people who have stayed and
others who have arrived. All of us were very hurt and
surprised about the elimination. It's a great pain.
In that sense I put myself in the position of the people.

And, at the same time, it's important for many
of us to have revenge.
- Reporter: Batistuta is no longer here...
How do you take this responsibility?
- Crespo: I'm calm, very calm. I'll do what I must do.

- Crespo: No, nothing we do is going to
cover up the pain that we felt in the World Cup.

the pain was so great. ...I'm not anxious
about the game, but I have a desire to start.
The group gives me a certain calmness,
because of the manner of the reaction to
what happened before. Now there are many
young people and for many of them it's going to

- Crespo: Good, happy. There have been concerns
about my physical condition, because of my showing
in the game against Uruguay, regrettably, I came
from preseason and had only played two 45-minute
games. I did not have the speed because there were
still two weeks to go before the beginning of the
Italian league, and I came to the game against Uruguay
in poor physical shape. And it bothers one not to
be in good shape for a game, more so than a
friendly. About all this, what's concerned me the

-Reporter: Is Chile an easy opponent on paper?
- Crespo: If Argentina plays as it must, it will qualify.
I don't have any doubt. Now, if we think that
everything is going to be easy, we are mistaken.
Argentina, in the last two qualifying rounds, came
out first because they thought of each game as a
difficult obstacle... We know that we are better
than Chile, but at the same time we must be
focused. We know that Argentina, relaxed, is not
Argentina.
