REAL MADRID
Iker Casillas: 5.5 – A player who looks desperate to put this season behind him, Casillas went through the motions this evening, although he was beaten by a pair of stunning goals from Cleber Santana and Keita.
Miguel Torres: 5.0 – Is this young man Real Madrid class? Certainly not on this showing. Offered nothing in an attacking sense, and looked fallible every time Mallorca came forward. Not a positive showing from the full-back.
Sergio Ramos: 4.5 – This display should ensure that Ramos returns to right-back for next season, because he appeared extremely ill at ease in the centre firstly with Cannavaro, and then with Javi Garcia. Centre-half is simply not his best position.
Fabio Cannavaro: 6.0 – His last ever home match for Los Blancos ended on a sour note for the Italian. Received a standing ovation upon being substituted, and to his credit the side looked distinctly more susceptible after his departure from the pitch.
Marcelo: 5.0 – His defensive frailties are often documented, and were blatantly obvious in the second half this evening as his half-hearted challenges and dreadful positioning made things just too easy for Mallorca.
Lassana Diarra: 4.5 – Arguably one of his worst outings since his move in January, The Frenchman was outclassed by Cleber Santana, and his feeble attempt at challenging him before the Brazilian rifled home summed up his ineffective display.
Rafael Van Der Vaart: 5.5 – Looked to create and played with invention in the first half, but as things began to go against his side, he disappeared into the background and refused to stand up and be counted as Mallorca ran riot.
Raul: 5.5 – The anguish was plain to see on the striker's face as events descended into the farcical, but the legend was just as poor on the night as his colleagues, surrendering possession on too many occasions and failing to link with Huntelaar.
Gonzalo Higuain: 7.0 – Far and away Real’s best player on the night, the Argentine bust a gut for his side, and scored a fabulous header to open the scoring, and he constantly endeavoured to create openings for his team-mates.
Arjen Robben: 4.5 – Robben looks to be a player disillusioned with his surroundings, and too often attempted to do everything on his own with no acknowledgement of his team-mates. He created precious little.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: 5.0 – The Dutchman hasn’t scored since the beginning of April, and it showed – he was completely anonymous on the night and did not manage a single clear opportunity on goal in the match.
SUBSTITUTES
Daniel Pareja: 4.0 - Yes, he may only be 20, and yes, it was a difficult game to be brought into, but Pareja's performance was completely impotent, and was nowhere near good enough.
Javi Garcia: 3.0 - Came on to replace Fabio Cannavaro, and couldn't have looked more uncomfortable. Dragged out of position, failed to win tackles, and was generally run ragged by Mallorca's forward players.
Royston Drenthe: 4.0 - The Dutchman's confidence is at its lowest ebb, and being brought into this match will have done little to reverse that. Sections of the home support jeered his every touch of the ball. |
