West Ham's Tevez: Mascherano exit good for me

Carlos Tevez believes it will be better for his West Ham career that Javier Mascherano has now moved to Liverpool.

Striker Tevez, 22, has started just one eague game for the struggling Hammers since Alan Curbishley took over from Alan Pardew in December.

But he believes midfielder Mascherano's departure will now make critics judge him on his own and not as part of a double act.

He said: "In a way, Javier going to Liverpool could be a good thing as people will stop thinking of us as a pair and we can both get on and try to be successful in England.

"Mascherano already said we are not Siamese twins who always need to stick together. So now he is going to Liverpool, it's problem solved.

"I know we both can play in England with no problem if we are given the chance to play on a regular basis."

在冬季转会的最后一刻，利物浦获得了小马转会的国际足联特批，完成了准册。

但是，这笔交易却迟迟不能完成因为还要等待英足总就转会细节的审核。

原定本周内英足总就会对此表态，但由于还需要进一步的调查而将延迟至下周。

英足总发言人说：“在过去的时间里委员会一直都在讨论此事，但现在看来只有到下周才会有进一步的结果。”

　　马斯切拉诺进入西汉姆联后一直没有得到任何的重视，在他等待进入利物浦的最终转会合同批下来的时间里，他对于自己在西汉姆联所受到的对待发表了自己的疑惑。

　　“在哪里我没有跟任何人有矛盾，没有谁跟我有过争执。我根本不知道发生了什么，我倒底做错了什么而让我得到这样的对待。”

　　“对此我没有怨恨，那里的球迷对我是友好的，即使我已经不是俱乐部中的一员了。”

　　“西汉姆联不需要我也能生存，同样的我不需要西汉姆联也能活得不错。我只希望能报答利物浦俱乐部为我所付出的努力。”

Mascherano makes Reds vow

Javier Mascherano insists he has no problem with anyone at West Ham as he looks forward to starting his new career at Liverpool.
 

The Argentine midfielder arrived at Upton Park in a whirlwind of publicity but neither then boss Alan Pardew or new incumbent Alan Curbishley employed his services on a regular basis.

Mascherano is now waiting for clearance from the Premier League before he can make his Anfield bow, with Fifa having already granted him dispensation to figure, despite the fact he has played for two clubs already since July of last year.

Eager to show his undoubted quality in England after a difficult introduction to the Premiership, the 22-year-old is hopeful of making a favourable impression on Merseyside.

"I had no arguments with anybody, no disputes. I don't know what had happened or what things I did wrong there," said Mascherano.

"I have no rancour. Fans and people in general treated me very well. It is obvious that I was not a player for that club.

"West Ham can live without me and I can live without West Ham. I wish to repay Liverpool's efforts to sign me on the field.

"I want to gain the respect of the Liverpool players in training and win a place in the team on merit.

"Now, a new door is open and, as always, I will get my head down and fight for a place in the team. If I don't play, I am not happy.

"I want to prove to myself that I can play here in England."

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez won't rush prospective signing Javier Mascherano into his first team.

"We are waiting for news on Mascherano. The club completed the registration in time. We've done our job and now the Premier League needs to decide. I don't know when this will happen but it's clear a player of his quality must play football," he said.

"I think after not playing for a while he will need time. He's training and he can be fit, but would need games. He is a player with quality and a good mentality. Now, he can talk English and he understands the Premiership."
