Zaragoza Sign Aimar From Valencia
Real Zaragoza have completed the signing of Pablo Aimar from Valencia.
The Argentine international was set for a move away after it was revealed that he did not figure in the plans of Quique Sanchez Flores.
Zaragoza seem to have pounced on the opportunity, and agreed a cut-price deal for the playmaker.
Aimar, 26, will leave Valencia today, and is set to become one of the biggest signings in the history of Zaragoza.
The player showed up at Valencia's training session today, and bid farewell to his team-mates one by one. Quique Sanchez Flores was conspicuous by his absence.
He made his first team debut for River Plate at 16 years of age, and after a sparkling spell for the Argentine giants, was snapped up by Valencia during the winter transfer window of the 2000-01 season.
He made immediate impact again, putting in some great displays as Los Ches made it to their second consecutive Champions League final that season.
He has played just under 200 games for Valencia in five-and-a-half years, scoring over 40 goals, in addition to numerous assists. He has also won two Primera Liga titles, one Uefa Cup, and one European Supercup, in addition to reaching that Champions League final.
