I was a VCF fan before Ranieri arrived (the first time), and will be a fan after he
leaves. However, supporting this team has now become more than frustrating, it is
sapping my energy, and it is truly very difficult.
The most depressing aspect is that things will get far worse before they get better.
I have nothing on which to base this other than my own suspicions, but I fear that
next year Aimar, Albelda, Mista, Fabio Aurelio and possibly Ayala will not be back.
Fiore, Corradi, Navarro will be back (I don't mind DiVaio --- he is a decent third
forward to come off the bench). Edu will join the team, and we know that some
more Serie A misfits and retreads will be joining.
This year, I can realistically envision three teams from Spain's east coast qualifying for
the 2005-2006 Champions Leauge -- Barcelona, Espanyol, and Villarreal. I can
absolutely see Los Ches going the way of Deportivo. If we lose all the
aforementioned players, we may have to struggle to stave off relegation.
Two years ago, Celta Vigo was in the Champions League, today
they are in the B division. Three years ago, Mallorca were in the Champions League,
next year they will be in the B division. Two years ago, Real Sociedad were runners-
up, and they have been on the brink orf relegation the last two years.
I hope I am wrong, but it is possible that VCF will finish 15th or 16th next season.
Look at our defense without Ayala -- we conceded three goals to Real Sociedad.
The real problem however, is that Ranieri may well be happy Ayala is out. That way
he gets to select Navarro, who from his perspective is clearly the superior player to
Ayala. WE know this because he thinks Aimar is a left winger, and Fiore is a better
player than Aimar--NOT!!!. I wil still be a VCF fan, but it is depressing.
这是一个瓦伦迷写的, 觉得他说得让我很心寒, 曾经辉煌的球队是可能在一两个赛季就
掉入谷底,已经有很多前例了 ;(
