three possibilities for coach Héctor Cúper's future, according to reports in the Italian press today.
The front-page of the Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport today says that the owner of Inter, Massimo Moratti, could ask
the Argentine to come back and that he would accept a proposal. This follows a meeting between Alexander Caama?o,
the agent of Héctor Cúper, and the management of the Milanese club. Cuper has a contract with the club until 30th June
2005 despite being sacked last October. Even though Cuper is not working, he has kept his yearly wage of 4 million
euros.
La Gazzetta dello Sport also confirms that Caama?o revealed to Inter that a possibility exists of Cúper replacing Marcelo
Bielsa as coach of the national team if the next Copa America in Peru is a failure. "The AFA has sounded out Cúper first,
but everything depends on the results of La Copa America, which could ultimately weaken the position of Bielsa," La
Gazzetta writes today.
The third theory is interest from Benfica, but the main obstacle seems to be the unlikelihood of the Portuguese club
paying the astronomical sum that the Argentine coach earns. Cúper, who is still living in Italy, on Lake Como, has always
said that he will respect his contract with Inter.

En Italia hablan de Cúper en lugar de Bielsa
Hacerse cargo de la Selección, un retorno a Inter o tomar al Benfica portugués son las tres posibilidades que se abren
en el futuro del entrenador Héctor Cúper, de acuerdo con lo que informa hoy la prensa italiana.
El diario deportivo italiano Tuttosport tituló en su portada de hoy "Cúper espanta a Mancini" y dice que el patrón del
Inter, Massimo Moratti, podría volver a convocar al argentino, quien debería aceptar la propuesta, tras una reunión entre
Alejandro Caama?o, el apoderado de Héctor Cúper, y la dirigencia del club milanés, club al que el DT estará ligado hasta el
30 de junio de 2005 aunque fue despedido en octubre pasado.
Pese a no trabajar, Cúper mantuvo su salario anual 4 millones de euros. Esta posibilidad sería enarbolada por Inter como
instrumento de presión para que tanto Lazio como Roberto Mancini revean las posiciones que hasta ahora han impedido
la incorporación del DT.
La Gazzetta dello Sport afirma a su vez que Caama?o expuso a Inter que existe la posibilidad de que Cúper pase a dirigir
en sustitución de Marcelo Bielsa la Selección, en el caso de un fracaso en la próxima Copa América de Perú. "La AFA ha
hecho con Cúper un primer sondeo, postergando de todas maneras cualquier profundización al resultado de la Copa
América, que podría debilitar ulteriormente la posición de Bielsa", escribe hoy la Gazzetta.
La tercera hipótesis sería un interés del Benfica, pero que tiene como principal obstáculo la imposibilidad por parte del
club portugués de pagar la astronómica cifra que gana el técnico argentino. Cúper, quien sigue viviendo en Italia, frente
al lago de Como, siempre dijo que respetará su contrato en Inter, aunque permanezca sin trabajar hasta que finalice el
vínculo.
